Conservation Regulator Victoria: Brand Launch

In 2019, Upstride Agency was tasked with creating and launching the brand for the Victorian Government’s new statutory authority, Conservation Regulator Victoria. This new entity was established to enhance the oversight and regulation of conservation efforts across the state.

Upstride's role was to develop a strong brand identity, launch narrative, and comprehensive communications strategy to introduce the regulator to Victoria and differentiate it from the broader Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.

WHAT WE DID

Brand Development

Consultation and Research: Worked closely with the interim head of the Conservation Regulator Victoria to understand the regulator’s mission and objectives. Conducted extensive consultations with key stakeholders to gather insights and align the brand with expectations and needs.

Crafted a Launch Narrative: Created a clear and compelling launch narrative that communicated the purpose, responsibilities, and unique aspects of the Conservation Regulator Victoria.

Developed Key Messages: Formulated key messages that highlighted the regulator’s focus on conservation and its operational differences from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.

Content Creation

Website and Media Content: Developed all content required for the regulator’s website and media materials, including brand imagery, press releases, and online content. Ensured consistency in messaging and branding across all platforms.

RESULTS

The Victorian Government successfully implemented Upstride’s launch brand, narrative, and communications plan. The launch received positive feedback from stakeholders and the public, effectively establishing the Conservation Regulator Victoria’s presence.

Three years after the launch, the brand narrative and visual identity developed by Upstride remain unchanged and continue to serve the regulator well as it grows and embarks on more high-profile work. The regulator is recognised for its distinct role and has maintained a strong presence in conservation regulation.
